SSC GD 2025 Exam Pattern

The SSC GD exam pattern 2025 has been designed to assess candidates on their logical reasoning, general knowledge, numerical ability, and language skills. The exam is conducted in multiple stages, and candidates must qualify at each stage to move forward in the selection process.

SSC GD Recruitment 2025

Lakhs of candidates have appeared for the SSC GD 2025 Exam to fulfill their dream of joining the various paramilitary forces as a Constable. The Staff Selection Commission conducts the SSC GD Constable exam every year to recruit candidates for the posts of Constable (General Duty) and Rifleman (General Duty) in the following forces:

SSC GD Exam Pattern 2025 Overview

  1. Mode of Exam: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
  2. Type of Questions: Objective Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs)

  4. Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted per wrong answer
  5. Time Duration: 60 minutes

SSC GD Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for GD Constable (BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSF, SSB, and riflemen) must have passed 10th class or equivalent from a recognized board.

SSC GD Age Limit (as on 01/01/2025)

Candidate is required to be between 18 to 23 years in order to be eligible for the SSC GD 2025 Exam. Candidates should not have been born earlier than 02-01-2002 and later than 01-01-2007. Age relaxation is given to candidates belonging to reserved categories as per the government rules.

  • What is the qualification of SSC GD?
    A 10th-pass candidate from a recognized Board/ University is eligible for the SSC GD Constable Exam.
  • What is the SSC GD physical test?
    SSC GD physical test is conducted to evaluate candidates' physical capabilities. It consists of two stages: the Physical Endurance Test and the Physical Standard Test. After passing this round they will go through a medical test.
  • Is SSC GD a good job?
    SSC GD is a good career option for 10th-pass candidates who want to be part of any defence force and the salary of an SSC GD constable is quite high.
     

SSC GD Constable 2025 Selection Process

The entire recruitment process of SSC GD 2025 will be completed in four stages: Computer Based Test (CBT), Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and at the last the Medical Test. The candidates will be shortlisted for SSC GD Constable posts in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), NIA, SSF, Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles and Sepoy in Narcotics Control Bureau. through the following stages-

Stage 1- Written examination (Computer Based)

Stage 2- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Stage 3- Physical Standard Test (PST)

Stage 4- Medical Test

After the medical test, the candidates shortlisted will have to appear for document verification.

  1. Each correct answer carries 2 marks.

3️. Elementary Mathematics

This section assesses basic mathematical and numerical skills.

  5. Profit, Loss & Discount
  6. Simple & Compound Interest

4️. English/Hindi Language

This section evaluates language skills and comprehension ability.

English Language Topics:

  1. Grammar (Nouns, Pronouns, Articles, Prepositions, Tenses, Subject-Verb Agreement, Modals)
  2. Vocabulary (Synonyms, Antonyms, Idioms & Phrases, One-Word Substitutions)
  3. Reading Comprehension (Passage-based MCQs)
  4. Cloze Test (Fill in the blanks using appropriate words)
  5. Spotting Errors & Sentence Correction
  6. Para Jumbles (Rearranging sentences to form a meaningful paragraph) 

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Standard Test (PST)

Candidates who qualify for the CBT will undergo PET/PST to assess their physical fitness.

  1. PET Requirements (Male & Female Candidates)

Male Candidates:

  • Race: 5 km in 24 minutes
  • Race (Ladakh region): 1.6 km in 7 minutes

Female Candidates:

  • Race: 1.6 km in 8.5 minutes
  • Race (Ladakh region): 800 meters in 5 minutes
  1. PST Requirements (Height & Chest Measurements)

Male Candidates:

  • Height: 170 cm (relaxation for certain categories)
  • Chest: 80 cm (minimum) with 5 cm expansion

Female Candidates:

  • Height: 157 cm (relaxation for certain categories)

Note: Relaxation in height & chest measurements applies for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per government norms.

 

Final Selection Process for SSC GD 2025

  1. Step 1: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
  2. Step 2: PET/PST for qualified candidates
  3. Step 3: Medical Examination
  4. Step 4: Final Merit List based on performance in CBT and PET/PST

 

For Physical Standard Test (PST)

The candidates will be examined for physical standards including Height and Chest (only males). Only the candidates who meet the requirements will be called for a medical examination. The physical standards required has been discussed below.
